Sustainability

Our Earth is incredibly precious and here at at Fearless we're trying our best to look after it by stocking brands that use sustainable practices and materials. As the WAO summit is currently on in Wanaka, we thought we'd share some of the ways our business and the brands we choose to stock are contributing towards a sustainable future.

Pyra

Pyra is on a sustainability journey with a goal of using 100% recycled fabrics and materials by 2023. Currently they use a range of organic cottons, and partner with sustainable fabrics such as Carvico, Econyl and Polartec. This means only renewable energy sources are used to make the fabric, and recycled raw materials are used rather than non-renewable ones.

Dharma Bums

Sustainability is at the heart of Dharma Bums' philosophy and everything they do aligns with that. We stock their beautiful leggings here at Fearless, each pair of which is made out of 17 post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. They also use fabrics such as Lenzing modal, a fabric made from raw beechwood that is compostable and biodegradable.

New Balance

We love our amazing range of New Balance shoes, and what makes them even better is the commitment they have towards sustainability with short and long term goals heading into a bold, more sustainable future. These goals are:

- using 100% preferred leather and 50% recycled polyester by 2025

- 100% renewable energy by 2030

- eliminate hazardous chemicals by 2025

- zero waste to landfill by 2025

- 30% reduction of CO2 emissions by 2030

Clique

Because Clique are a New Zealand company, there is the added bonus of less miles to travel for their products to make it to our Wanaka store, and to your homes around New Zealand. They also use recycled bottles to make their tights and other garments (average of 12.5 bottles per pair of tights).

First Base

First Base have gorgeous pieces of active and leisure wear that are created using sustainable practices. They only use 100% certified organic cotton, recycled nylon, and also use bamboo in some of their garments which is produced without any toxic chemicals and doesn't need any pesticides or herbicides to grow well.

These are just some of the brands we stock that are committed to sustainable practices - come in store to check out the rest. Keep being fearless, looking after yourself and this beautiful place we call home.
